On the way from north iceland to the west, a drive on dirt road greets you to this peak. It was one of the highlights of the trip, and this photo does nothing to convey how amazing the views and atmosphere was. Just stunning.
An interesting place. Strong smell of sulfur, with lots of steam coming out through cracks in the ground, again smelling strongly of sulfur! Colour around the cracks are certain bacteria growing that are able to live in such hot sulfur rich environments!
